Einen Traum erfüllen…/ Fullfilling a dream…

… ist wirklich wunderschön!

Meine 8 jährige Tochter wünscht sich schon seit Jahren, reiten zu lernen. Aber das ist wirklich ein unglaublich teurer Spaß, habe ich festgestellt.

Was wir möglich machen konnten (Ferienfreizeit mit Ponyreiten, Schnupperstunden usw.), haben wir gemacht, und dabei haben wir festgestellt, dass der Umgang mit den Pferden ihr wahnsinnig gut tut.

Ich dachte ja erst, mit ihrem ADHS sei das ganz schwierig, weil sie ja Schwierigkeiten mit der Impulskontrolle hat, ständig in Bewegung ist, sich oft nicht konzentrieren kann usw. Aber genau das Gegenteil ist der Fall: In der Nähe von Pferden ist mein Kind ganz ruhig, konzentriert und fokussiert. -es tut ihr unheimlich gut, mit diesen Tieren zu interagieren, und sie saugt alles, was man ihr erklärt oder sie lehrt wie ein Schwamm auf. Das ist absolut faszinierend!

Auch ihre Kinderpsychiaterin hält viel davon, Adhs Kinder mit Pferden zusammen zu bringen, aber therapeutisches Reiten von irgendwem bezahlt zu bekommen, ist so gut wie unmöglich. Dafür ist meine Tochter nicht „behindert“ genug. Was für eine Aussage!!!

Wir haben also auf eigene Faust weiter gesucht, und heute haben wir ganz in der Nähe einen privaten „Ponyclub“ gefunden. Die Frau, die ihn leitet, legt ganz großen Wert darauf, auch „armen“ Kindern den Reitunterricht zu ermöglichen. Dafür helfen die Kinder auf ihrem Hof tatkräftig mit beim Pflegen und Versorgen der Pferde und der anderen Tiere, beim Ausmisten, fegen usw. Sie legt großen Wert darauf, dass alle Kinder sich respektieren, freundlich zueinander sind und sich gegenseitig helfen. Heute waren wir zum Kennenlernen da, und meine Tochter ist völlig begeistert, weil sie dort ab nächste Woche einmal in der Woche hin darf. Auf dem Heimweg hat sie geweint vor Glück!

Und ich bin wahnsinnig glücklich, dass ich ihr diesen Wunsch erfüllen kann und finde es wirklich toll, wie die Besitzerin dieses Ponyclubs arbeitet. Wirklich eine ganz tolle Sache!

Sie hat uns auch gleich einen Second-Hand Laden empfohlen, in dem wir Reithelm, Stiefel usw. kaufen können. Da werden wir dann nächste Woche mal shoppen fahren.

Ich bin wirklich immer total froh, wenn ich Menschen kennenlerne, die nicht nur auf Prestige oder Profit aus sind. Sie betreibt den Ponyclub mittlerweile seit über 20 Jahren. Und nun kommen schon die Kinder ihrer früheren Reitschüler dort lernen.

Nun bin ich sehr gespannt, wie meine Kleine dort zurechtkommt, ob es sich tatsächlich positiv auf ihr ADHS auswirkt und ob sie es schafft, sich auch in die Gruppe einzufügen und mit den anderen Kindern klarzukommen. So etwas fällt ihr eigentlich sehr schwer. Ich werde euch berichten!

At first I thought that with her ADHD it would be very difficult, because she has difficulties with impulse control, is constantly on the move, often can’t concentrate, etc. But exactly the opposite is the case. But exactly the opposite is the case: Around horses my child is very calm, concentrated and focused. -it does her tremendous good to interact with these animals, and she soaks up everything that is explained or taught to her like a sponge. It is absolutely fascinating!

Her child psychiatrist also thinks highly of bringing Adh’s children together with horses, but getting therapeutic riding paid for by anyone is next to impossible. My daughter is not „disabled“ enough for that. What a statement!!!

So we kept looking on our own, and today we found a private „pony club“ very close by. The woman who runs it attaches great importance to making riding lessons possible even for „poor“ children. For this purpose, the children on her farm actively help in caring for the horses and other animals, mucking out, sweeping, etc.. It is very important to her that all the children respect each other, are friendly to each other and help each other. Today we were there to get to know each other, and my daughter is completely thrilled because she will be allowed to go there once a week starting next week. On the way home she was crying with happiness!

And I am very happy that I can fulfill her wish and I think it is really great how the owner of this pony club works. Really a great thing!

She also recommended a second-hand store where we can buy riding helmets, boots etc.. We will go shopping there next week.

I am always really happy when I meet people who are not just out for prestige or profit. She has been running the pony club for over 20 years now. And now the children of her former riding students are already coming to learn there.

Now I’m very curious to see how my little girl gets along there, whether it actually has a positive effect on her ADHD and whether she also manages to fit into the group and get along with the other children. This is something that is actually very difficult for her. I will report back to you!
